Fermanagh Authors Association's first book is "The Fermanagh Miscellany" The aim of this collection is to present a representative selection of sixteen of our members' work. The collection has been ably edited by Séamas Mac Annaidh. Some of the group are known primarily as historians, others as novelists or short-story writers. This collection showcases both sorts of writing and in so doing shows that there is a great overlap between the two. Our definition of a Fermanagh Author is simply anyone writing in or about Fermanagh, not forgetting Fermanagh authors living elsewhere. It is not surprising that common themes are apparent in this collection. Lough Erne features largely, as does our interest in local people and places. The book also includes a valuable set of notes about the various authors featured and a listing of books about Fermanagh or by Fermanagh authors 2005-2006. At the handsome price of £4.99 this book is likely to be a very acceptable Christmas gift and the print run to sell out swiftly. This collection has been dedicated to David Hall, Enniskillen's famous and recently retired bookseller who will be presented with a volume signed by all the authors as a gesture of thanks to the person who has provided so many of the members with an outlet for their publications for so many years.
