A place of great scenic beauty, Lough Erne has long been the inspiration for artists and draws tourists from far and wide. This is a unique collection of tales capturing the experiences and memories of people around the Lough Erne area, many whom has since passed away. These tales are charming in their humour and simplicity and touching in their honesty.
These stories have been collected from people who have spent most of their lives and whose experiences mirror those of the last century. Historically the population of the area is a mixture of Irish, Scottish and English descent but being a quier rural area people generally get on well together and although there have been great changes in lifestyle there is an underlying traditional life still present... I have known all these people and recorded their stories. Many have passed to their eternal reward but nobody is dead until they have gone from the memory of those who knew them and it is hoped that these pages will preserve their memories even longer.
